I’m Duluth potter, sculptor and teacher. A throughline of inspiration has come from growth patterns in bones and shells and how those patterns relate to the fluidity of water - and a feeling of transfiguration. As I throw, sculpt and fire I emphasize aspects not in my control; cracks that form as clay is stretched along a curve or the movement of glaze in the heat of the kiln. I collect materials and find ideas for forms along the rivers and shoreline of our great Gichigami.
